Managing your .CV domain effectively helps you avoid losing it after expiry. Below is a simple overview of what happens at each stage.
1. Expiry and Suspension
A domain is automatically suspended one day after expiry. It becomes inactive and inaccessible to the public until renewed.
2. Renewal Grace Period
You have a 5-day Renewal Grace Period after expiry to renew the domain.
It is strongly recommended to renew before expiry to prevent loss.
3. Deletion and Redemption
Domains are deleted after the 5-day grace period ends.
After deletion, they enter a 30-day Redemption Period where you can restore them.
Once redemption period ends, domains move to Pending Delete for five days, after which they become available to the public again.
4. Auto-Renewal and Restoration
Expired domains do not auto-renew.
Only domains restored during redemption are renewed automatically for one additional year.
The system renews using available registrar credits.
5. Transfers and Deletions
Transfers are not blocked after expiry unless manually restricted.
Clients can delete both active and expired domains at any time.
Redemption is enabled but not active during grace.
Domains can be restored without administrator approval.
6. Quick Timeline Recap
